Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment & Promotion Board (UPPRPB) conducts the Sub-Inspector (SI) exam online. The syllabus includes General Hindi, Law/Constitution (Mool Vidhi), Numerical Ability, and Mental Aptitude.
⚡ Critical Rule: You must score min 35% in EACH subject and 50% Overall to pass. There is NO Negative Marking.

📚 Detailed Syllabus (Topic Wise)
1. General Hindi (सामान्य हिंदी)
- हिंदी और अन्य भारतीय भाषाएँ, हिंदी व्याकरण का मौलिक ज्ञान – हिंदी वर्णमाला।
- तत्सम-तद्भव, पर्यायवाची, विलोम, अनेकार्थक।
- वाक्यांशों के स्थान पर एक शब्द, समरूपी भिन्नार्थक शब्द।
- अशुद्ध वाक्यों को शुद्ध करना, लिंग, वचन, कारक, सर्वनाम, विशेषण, क्रिया, काल, वाच्य।
- उपसर्ग, प्रत्यय, सन्धि, समास, विराम-चिन्ह, मुहावरे एवं लोकोक्तियां।
- रस, छन्द, अलंकार, प्रसिद्ध कवि, लेखक एवं उनकी प्रसिद्ध रचनायें।
2. Basic Law/Constitution & General Knowledge (मूल विधि & संविधान)
- Mool Vidhi (Basic Law): Indian Penal Code (IPC), Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC), Women & Children Protection, Motor Vehicle Act, Environment Protection, Human Rights, Cyber Crime, PIL (Public Interest Litigation), Land Reforms.
- Constitution: Aim of Constitution, Fundamental Rights, Directive Principles, Rules & Regulations of constitutional amendments, All India Service, Information about social law related to women & children.
- GK: General Science, Health Science, History of India, World Geography, Indian Economy, Current Affairs (UP Focus).
3. Numerical & Mental Ability (Maths)
- Number System, Simplification, Decimals & Fractions.
- HCF & LCM, Ratio & Proportion, Percentage.
- Profit & Loss, Discount, Simple & Compound Interest.
- Partnership, Average, Time & Work, Time & Distance.
- Use of Tables & Graphs, Mensuration.
4. Mental Aptitude & Reasoning
- Mental Aptitude (Police Specific): Attitude towards Public Interest, Law and order, Communal harmony, Crime Control, Rule of law, Ability of Adaptability, Professional Information (Basic), Police System.
- IQ Test: Relationship and Analogy Test, Spotting out the dissimilar, Series Completion, Coding-Decoding, Direction Sense, Blood Relation, Time sequence test.
- Reasoning: Analogies, Similarities, Differences, Space visualization, Problem solving, Decision-making, Visual memory.
